Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This policy explains how ArtHounds ("we", "us"), operated by Honor Systems, Inc., handles information when you use arthounds.us and the member site at app.arthounds.us (together, the "Services").
What we collect
- Account information. A username, an email address and a password. Passwords are one-way hashed (bcrypt) and we cannot read them. If you sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple where offered, we receive the name and email that provider shares with us.
- What you submit. Venue reviews, grades, notes, Hall of Fame votes, judge-quiz answers, favorites and the venues you watch. Reviews are shown to other members with your username.
- Location (optional). If you type a city or ZIP, or allow your device to share its location, we use it only to show venues near you. We do not keep a location history.
- Cookies. A few first-party cookies keep you signed in ("remember me") and remember your filters. We do not use advertising cookies.
- Technical logs. Our web server records standard request information (time, page, approximate network address) to keep the Services secure and to count visits.
How we use it
To run your account, show venues and reviews, work out grades and rankings, send account emails (verification codes and security notices), prevent abuse, and understand overall traffic. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who else handles it
- Amazon Web Services hosts the Services and sends our email.
- Cloudflare sits in front of our sites for security and speed.
- Sign-in providers (Google, Facebook, Apple) only if you choose to use them.
- Map and address lookups (such as OpenStreetMap services) receive the place or address text needed to find a location.
We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the Services and their members.
Venue information
Venue listings (names, addresses, phone numbers, websites) come from public sources, including the Overture Maps Foundation and OpenStreetMap contributors. If a listing about your business is wrong, or a website link is dead or unsafe, use the flag option in the app or contact us and we will fix or remove it.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your reviews, and you can ask us to delete your account and the personal information tied to it by emailing us. Some content may remain in backups for a short time.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. Questions: [email protected].
